Waiknto Times Office, Monday. LONDON WOOL SALKS. LONDON, March 8. — At the wool sales on Tuesday, 12,300 bales were offered. There was a firm and active demand. Good qualities fetched about the same as at the close of the last sales. On Wednesday 12,000 bales were offered. The market wa-, rather weaker. The withdrawal-* amount to 20,000 bales. The present series oi wool sales on Maich 15. On Friday 13,000 bales were offered. Prices were s-tcadv, but the demand was not active. To-day 12,800 bales were offered. The inatket was unchanged. — A Preis Association message Hay.s :— All descriptions of wool, except crobs-breds, are weaker, and theie ii 1 * very slack .attendance at the sale*. "lB79-1004 loan, 101 ; 4 per cent." inscribed stock, 103^. — The total reserve in the Bank of England in notes and bullion has fallen to £13,900,000 —a decrease of £200,000 compared with last year. The proportion of reserve to liabilities hai declined to 39 per cent.— The bank rate of discount remains at 3^ per cent., and the market rate 3s.— The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,(330,000 quarter*.- -being 10,000 quarter-, less than last week.— Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 445, and New Zealand ditto at 30a to 425 ; Adelaide flour, e\ store, is 30s.— Australian tallow has declined (5d per cwt. Boef is now quoted at 38s, and mutton at 41s Od, for average qualities.
