Tradesmen, 7s to LOs per day ; boys, 5s to 15s per week ; jrooms, 20s to 25a and found ; drivers, 20s ;o 255 ; married couples, £05 to £75 ; women cooks, 12s to 20s ; general servants, Js to 14s ; housemaids, 10s to 12s ; laundresses, 15s to Kis ; nursegirh, 5s to 8s ; parlourmaids, 10s to 12s ; charwomon, 4s per day ; housekeepers, £40 to £80. We have waiting employment, good men cooks, jrooms and gardeners, waiters and hotelmen, itoremen, farm hands, boys and youths, young men for light employment, housekeepers and married couples.
LONDON MAUKKM. London, February 21.— The total reserve in notes and bullion in tlio B.ink of England is £13.700,000, an advance of £800,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities remains at 4 per cent. The bank rate (if discount remains at 3& per cent, and the market rate at 3jj. Consols havo advanced to 101£. New Zealand securities remain at last quotations. Adelaide wheat, ex btore, remains at 4 is, and Adelaide flour, es store, at 31s ; NewZealand wheat, ex store, is 31s ; New Zealand wheat, ex store, cf.i., 37s (id (soller*' price), but with no buyers. Australian Tallow : Average quality, beef, 38s ; mutton, 41s 6d. A Press Association message says :— The price of Australian wheat remains without alteration. In the wool market greasy and scoured merinos and coarse cross-breds and combing merinos are realising prices slightly below those of the December sales. 1700 bales are catalogued.
