Melbourne, Monday. 'The Argus, to-day, publishes telegrams containing the news of the collision between the Wairaiana and the Adelaide. They state that the Waiiaiapa thiew down the gauntlet to the Adelaide to race. The damage sustained by the latter \e*sel is Aeiy slight. Mr BoUu, late Inspector-General of Schools, died suddenly yesterday. Anived, yesterday : Waihoia, from the Bluff.
Brisbane, Monday. Heavy rains followed by disastrous floods, ha"c been experienced at Townsville. Four Chinamen have been drowned, and two other peisons are missing.
