[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Sunday.
A strong feeling is here manifested over the action of the Goxcrnuipnc under the Crown and Native Linds Rating Act. Under the impreoMon that native lands would conti Unite rates, local bodies have incurred heavy liabilities for works chiefly benefiting such luids. By a late Gazette, however, the Governor exempts from lates all native lands in this provincial district of any ical value, only a few outlying blocks of lull countiy being left. This will seiiously distutb the finances of local bodies. Government lands aye also disgracefully undervalued. Two day's trial of Tomlinson and Haywaid's glycet ins and Lincoln sheep dips concluded yesteiday, and exhibited much interest amongst stockownets. Both dip 3 gave excellpnt re3iilts, and Mr Hayward booked laige orders.
