A preliminary inquh y into the stranding of the steamer Waihora at Tewai Point was hel I lieie on Saturday afternoon before Mr Hackworth, the Collector of Customs., and Captain Thomson, nautical assessor. The evidence showed that the accident was unavoidable. A link of the chain connected with the steering gear carried away. The WaihoiM sailed U&fc night duect to Hobait and Melbourne.
