WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Waitoa Road Board w.is held on Saturday, there being present Messrs Cliepmell, Gould and Buck. The enginoeis, Messrs Sandes and Napper, were al-.o in attendance. Puokkkss OF WoiiKh. — It was leported that J. Stanley hah made satisfactory progiees with his contiact on the defened payment block, and is making a good job ; S. JJurge's contract not very .satisfactory ; D. Murphy same ; T. Russell's work good, but blow. M.nnpiice, Kay and Co. have forfeited their deposit, and the contiact has been let to M. O'Donoghue, at Is 3d pei yai d. Tendeks. — Fourteen tenders weie received for contracts fiom 9 to 13 as adveitised, and tendei s as under weie accepted :—: — No. !).— C. Coilins and Co.— Diain, 0-, lOd per chain ; forming, 2t> (kl per chain ; timber, 23s per 100 f t; iion, 4kl per 1b ; eaith. 7d per yd ; pipes, pei set, 40-*, 545, 100^ — No. "10 — Joseph Heathcote.— Budge. 6189; culveit, £18; eaith, Is per yd ; timber for budge, 33s pei 100 ft; foi culveit, 2t)s ; iron, Gd. — No. 11, Pateisou and y haw.— Face cuttings, lt> pei yd; biding-,, Sd pei yd ; dram, Sd poi yd ; timber. 22s per 100 f t; iron, (id per lb ; fascineb, 40->.— No. 12, James Shaw.— ls pei yd.- -No. 13, M. O'Donoghue.— Eaith, 11 W per yd ; timbei, 22-, (3d per 100 ft. Accounts.— Accounts amounting to £140 odd weie passed for payment.
