Messrs R. M. JiKitJiirox and Co., 177, Queen-street, Auckland, report:—Business has been brisk m genera!, but still there is great demand for experienced men and women servants. We have some few good situations open, which we hope to fill dining the present week. Several good farm hands and others refuse to take di&t.int situations out of Auckland on account of having to pay their own fai c. Although we cannot altogether blame employers for not advancing the passage money, ab many unprincipled men and women servants have taken advantage of employers. Engagements as follows :—Farm hands, 20t> to 25s and found; managers for farms or stations, £150 and free house; bush hands, Gs to 8-.per day; .married couples, £75 to £80 and found ; milkers, 10a to 20*,; general servants, 8s to 14s; housekeepers, 15s to 25s ; cooks, 12s to 25s ; nursegirls, 5s to 8s ; and others at current wages. We ha\e waiting employment : Grooms and gardeners, station hands, bushmen, waiters, hotelmen, labourers, married couples, and many others.
