Sydney, January 17. The Conmiitte of Elections and Qualification declared that the seats in the Legislative Assembly of the Hon. G. H. Reid (Minister of Public Instruction), and F. B. Sutter (eK-Miiuster), are vacant, by reason of informality in regard to the proclamation of their election. The committee has still under consideration the question of the validity of the election of the Hon. H.E. Cohen (Minister of Justice).

[Received January 18, 1 p.m.] SYDXiiY, Friday. It is announced that the Government intend introducing in Parliament a Validating Bill, to meet the constitutional difficulty which has arisen in connection with the election of some members of the present Ministry. At the sale of Mr It. D. Owen's horses yesterday, the lots offered realised £13,500. The highest price given was £1300 for a yearling filly. Melbourne, Friday. The Marquis of Nornianby leaves for England, via San Francisco, in April next. The Argus to-day, alluding His Excellency's departure, warmly eulogised the manner in which he has filled the position ot Governor. Adelaide, Friday. The Earl and Countess Roaeberry are now in this city, en route for England.
