The second day's racing of the Auckland Summer Meeting t>ok place on Tuesday (New Year's D.iy.) The weather was fine, and there was a large attendance of visitors. This race was supposed to be a moral for Tim Whiffler, but Libeller was ako freely backed. The distance between the first and second horses was about a length. Libeller's win was very popular. The betting was even on Tim, o to 4 agst Waipiti, 2 to 1 ag^t Envious. Tim led from the start, and won hands down by two lengths. Time, linin. l'.Kec.
