Adjourned Meeting.

The adjourned meeting of the committee was hold 011 Tuesday evening. Present : Messrs Tt. W. Sargent (in the chair), Hewitt, Hoiking, Wiight, Houghton. Mr Hoiking, on the bii»ine.s& of the meeting commencing, withdiow. . Mr Saigent said both he and Mr Wiight, in accoid.ince with instructions, had interviewed Mr Stewart, and laid the nutter befoie him. He distinctly declined to apologise or make any concession whatever, beyond informing them that the matter was now in the hands of hi.s solicitor. Mr Hewitt said he was veiy sorry that the only alternative they now had uas to send the i evolution as pioposed by him at the previous meeting, together with all the correspondence on the matter to the Board of Education. He regietted very much that Mr Stewait had not taken a better view of the case. They had given him ample time and opportunity. The boaid could now deal with the matter as they thought pioper. Mr Houghton agreed that this was the only couise now open to them. He would second Mr Hewitt'* proposition. The proposition was then put, and carried unanimously. , Mr Hosknig then resumed the chair. In doing so he thanked the committee for their kindness and attention. This terminated the meeting.
