NGARUAWAHIA RACES.
The following are the entries and handic ips for the above races to be held on the 2,3 th inst., on the old racecourse, Ngaruawahia :—
En tries fur the Maiden Plate.— Mr Robinson's b q Karaka, aged ; Mr Starr's bni Flying Mary, aged ; Mr Fleming's b q Pilgrim, 3vis.; Mr Muirs bin Drewmaker, syr» ; Mr Thompson's b m Milliner, syr» ; O'Connor'-, b q Blue Ribbon, aged. Maori Race. — Mr Newton's Black Gown, aged. Post entries will be received for this race. The course is in good order, and owing to the porous nature of the subsoil, is at present the best spot for galloping on in Waikato. Every arrangement is now'complete for the day, aud the only thing wanted to make a success is fine weather. Mr F, H. Lewison, of Auckland, has generously presented a handsome pair of vases, which which will be given as a prize for one of the bicycle races. .^^^
