PROPOSED FARMERS' COOPERATIVE ASSOCIATION AT TAMAHERE.

The propiiety of establishing an association, to be called the Tamaheie K.inncih' Co-operative Association, uas discussed. It was also n-snhod that all piesent should act ;t.s a comniitti'C to canvass the district to asceitam the suiipoit 'the nioveinent get, and ii'poit to the nest nieeti'iuf, to be held on Monday, the 3rd December, at 7.30 p.m. The capital of the pioposed association v ill bi- €10,000 in 10,000 shaies of HI each, payable Is on application, Is on allotment, and Is at intervals of not less than one month thereafter. Tt i.s piopnsed. to establish the office of the association at the Taniiihere .store, Mr Thomp-on, the present piopnetor, having consented to act as .secretiiij'and manager for the association until other arrangemedts can be made. The objects of the association adopted by the meeting are exactly similar to the Taranaki Farmers' Co-operative Association, viz. :— 1 .—To offer facilities to farmers for the bhipment by the most approved me.ins of their produce to the various markets ot tin* world, and the appointment of agents in the thedifferent localities ior the furtherance of this object. 2.— To cftett adv-inces on any securities, real or personal, that the directors appointed by the Association may think fit. 3. — To procure for sale to the shareholders cornsacks, woolpacks, agricultural implements, Seeds, and other articles of consumption, or otherwise, th.it the directors to be appointed by thn Association may think fit. 4. — To extend the working of the Association in any direction which may seem likely to benefit the members. 5.— 10 confine the advantages of the Association exclusively to members. o.— To conduct the operations of the Association on a cash basis. 7.— To divide the profits that may accrue to the Association in the conduct of its business among tlio shareholders of the Association pio tata in accordance with the amount of business done by cadi shareholder, after paying such dividends on paid-up capital as may be declared from time to time and after setting aside any funds as a reserve fund that the directors of the Association may think fit. B.— And the doing of all such other things as arc incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.
