FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATIONS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Your Te Awamutu correspondent is right, and, 'tis pity 'tis true, ho might have added, Do the Waikato fm inert, expect to get anything worth having if they don't try to get it ? Why, Sir, even good crops, or good cattle, are not to be had without trying for, and expense to boot. Your leader of the 27th October on tint, subject bhows what has been done in Canterbury. Then, why cannot the whole of our Waikato farmers unite, and try to follow in the same road to biicces&— 20 V per cent is an immense piofit — and at the Tmek of this again is the ceitainty a farmer feels that his produce will bring a fair average market price, and he knows that his seeds, artificial manures and implements can be had through the association at loss price than he cm buy them through any other ngency. Why, then, do not the farmers unite togethei in this grand co-operative scheme, and secure to themsehes the soiious advantages of buying in the cheapest and selling in the best markets ; it really means profit, where now it is loss. Wake up, Waikato farmeis, don't go on waiting for this or that big company to lelieve you from the present depression ; have your association, try to help yourselves, and depend upon it, that that will do more to lift you up out of your present trouble than any other person will or can do for you.— l am, Ngaroto, Nov. 10. J. Newl \nd.
