WANGANUI, Monday.
The ca«e against Simon Ashford, a halfcaste, for perjury at the recent session of the Supreme (Jourt, in a case of assault brought by Piercey agiinst tluee natives, came on at the R.M. Couit this morning. The accused did not appear in answer to the summons, and the R.M. issued a warrant for his arrest. The case is to come on again when accused is fouad. It is thought he ia in the back country, and may not be got-
