AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S SPRING MEETING.

Tien npi ing meeting of tlio above club was held on Satin day at the Elleislie racecourse, and what might have been a success w.i-i somewhat marred by the unfavourable state of the weather. In spite of the gloomy foibodingh, however, theie weie upw.iids of 2000 present, and these were lewarded by .seeing good fields, close finishes, and generally one of the most interesting meetinga that has been held there for a long time. The grand stand was well pat ionised, and Mr Impey's band played on the lawn during the afternoon. The handicaps, which were made by the committee, exclusive of horse owners, gave great satisfaction. The judge had a difficult matter to detect whether second honours had been won by Revolver or Krupp, but ho decided in favour of the latter.
