THE CRUSHING AT TE AROHA.
• ■ The correspondent of the N.Z. Herald at Waiorongoniai telegraphs on Thursday : — "The battery returns for the day are iut follow : — Waitoki, llozs lOdwts. ; Weraliiko; 40ozn lOdwts. ; Colonist, 52ozs. ; Premier, lllozs lodwts. ; New Find lOlozs. ; total, 31(>ozs lodwts. The falling off in the New Find leturn is owing to the fact of one of the stamps employed on the quartz from that claim being out of order and hung up. The returns so far are, however, considered veiy satisfactory, and taping well for a crushing of over 2ozs of gold per ton. About forty tons per day i» jawing through the battery, some of it being very hard." Wo are unable to give the results of yesterday as the telegraph office was closed.
