It io reported that at a recent; meeting of natives at Kawhia, Hone te One declared himself in favour of opening up the country by nieani of telegraphs, and roads and leasing lands. Tawhiao, who was piesent at the meeting, did not attempt to reply to tho remarks of Hone te One.
