Waikato Times Office, Wednesday. LABOUR REPORT.
'Messrs R. M. Hkighton and Co. labour agents, 177 Queon-street, report :— We have still waiting employment a largo number of men who aro willing to accept work at fair wages. We cannot conceive why contractors cry out that they cannot get men, when so 'many are idle. We aro orer pared to supply large orders promptly. J3usiness during the week for labouien* has been limited, wages bomewhat lower. Tradesmen seem fairly employed, in the absence of any transactions we cannot qnoto wages. Couples and good ploughmen, aro in demand, wages upward tendency. There is still a dearth of good domestic servants, mine especially for country situations ; wages good, €30 to £40 per annum, Female servants, for hotels, town, and prhate houses, plenty ; wages, 10rf to l. r >s per week.
