Ox Thursday afternoon, , Dr. HaiTisbn, ac,ent for Mrs Dr. Anna ' Potts, aimnyed'at ■i reference to that lady which appeared in a theatrical bulletin published at the Free Lance Office, Auckland, procoeded to interview the editor, Mr Wickhnm. The doctor was accompanied by his brother and a Mr Millett. ,On baing questioned Mr Wickham refuted to give the name of the atitb'or of the objectionable letter.iwhereCujon the doctor struck' him^ , either, w^tih his cane or with a ring, as the blood flowed from Mr Wickham's,lieadl Several persons hearing the comindtion rushed in ' dnd prevented further miichief, and the jjolice having boen sent for, tlie doctor and his friend were arrested, but were .subsequently admitted to bail. Millett's version of the ocfcuAence went to show that Mr Wickham the injury to his head by falling against a table in Ins haste to get away.
