Sydnkv, October fl. The New South Wales Parliament was opened to-day by the Governor. The address in reply to the speech from the Throne was agreed to this evening by both Houses of the Legislature without discussion.
HouAßr, October 9. The excitement in Launceston over the rejection of the Government Railway Bill by the Legislative Council still continues. Effigies, of the hon. F. H. Giubb, M.L.C.and Mr Z. Hai t, member of the HoiibO of Assembly, have been burnt in front of the L.iunceston Town Hall by an excited mob. Much indignation has also been shown in this city, and in response to a largely-.signed requisition, the membeii? of both Houses for Hobart have resigned their .seats.
