Madrid, October 1. The reports of the discourtesy shown to KingAlfonro by the inhabitants of Paris have created much diaaatisfaction and illfeeling towards the French in this city. Anti-French cries have been raised by the populace, and placards posted in various parts of the city, and the French Embassy is under military protection. Great preparations are being made for an ovation to the King on his return. Paris, October 1. It has transpired that President GreVy has apologised in the name of France to King Alfonso for the manner in which His Majesty was received by tl.e people on arrival here. The President madfi an apology, as the King was most indignant, and was preparing to depart immediately. King Alfonso left to-day for Madrid, notwithstanding the request of President Grevy that he should remain a, day longer. The French Press generally deplore the outrage on the King, and warmly condemn the conduct of the pjople of this city. HONG Kong, October 1. News is to hand from Canton that a European named Logan, who shot a Chinaman, in an affray which took place in that city in Augtust, has been tried for murder, and h.va bjcn sentenced to seven years' imprisonment. Tho Chinese populace have expressed great discontent at the leniency of the court, and much uneasiness pi avails in the city. London', October 2. The Chinese Viceioy ha? complained to the European nuthoi ities at Cantm regarding t!ie result of the trial of a European named L lgau for tho murder of a Coolie. Owing to the excited feeling of the populace, business is entirely suspended. Pauis, October 1. Tho latest intelligence from Tonquin states that the combined French expeditions left Hciiiphongiuit ('!), Hanoi, and Haiphong, are to operate against tho Annamite positum at Bucurch.
