He ibked the boaid to allow him to bpend his rates for this year, and made an offer to supplement the amount of hi*> lates by oneJuid additional. After diicussion it was evolved to infouu Mr Walker that the joard were detained fiom accepting by the Road Boaid Act, which bays " that all con.racts ovei £20 shall bo let by public tenler,'* but they agreed to cany out the woik iccordmg to his plan providing he will give me-thiid subsidy on hib lates on the amount >f the contract. — It was 1 resolved that Norribh'h tender for eaithwoik at Watson's 3ridge be accepted at £12. — .Regarding the Vtyutery Creek biidge approaclics it was »|jolvea that tendeis be called for same at ice ; also for other Avorkss as per adverisemeut. — Mr Keynoldb offering to give a lew road to the Pukerhnu landing through jot 12 in lieu of the piesent one, which vould give a much eauer giadient and be , onsiderably shorter, and ceuld also be nade for much less expense, it was resolved j hat Messrs Sandes and Napjjer be re[uested to survey the road and prepare ilaus.—JJt was xesolyed " That as in dome tortioiis of the di.sfcrict the furze is becoming , nuisance, Messrs Fisher and Reynolds io appointed to view the same, so that the wnera cau got notice to grub and remove be same within one month, otherwise the enalty provided in the Public Woiks Act, 882, be enforced." — Small accounts were aid to the amount of £5 93 3d, and the leeting then adjourned.— (Correspondent.)
