CAMBRIDGE ANNUAL HORSE PARADE.
Tiie annual horse parade for district entire^' ,was held, at Cambridge on Saturday t^eyon^ ing last, and was not so successful as ihigliji have been expected, considering the^MOticeC given. There was a fairly large number of settlers about town during the parade, but very little interest seemed to be manifested in- the exhibition,- The fallowing horses 'paraded i-fMi^ J. thoroughbred horse " Ffeve," and Clydesdale horses " Bonnie Prince Charlie" and " Nugget," late " Young Prince Charlie," Mr Hill's " Lowden Tarn" and "Prince Charlie," Mr J. Pa^coe's " Young Wellington," and Mr N. Hunt's pony entire "Nutmeg." ",Feye" was in excellent condition, and was very much admired during' his walk round. Mr Allwill's latest importation'!, " Nuggett" and " Bonnie Prince. Charlie,", formed the theme of much comment among the " knowing ones," who criticised the points of the respective horses with mufeh minuteness. Mr Hill's horses were also in excellent condition, and presented an unusually showy appearance, and " Young Wellington " was pronouuced to be looking better than ever, having evidently been well looked after since last season. " Nutmeg " still retains his healthy appearance. The old Waikato favourite, " Merrylegs," was expected, but, did not show up. It was generally thought that the parade ought' to have been postponed for some time, as none of the Company's horses have as yet arrived in the district, though they have been advertised to travel, Doubtless there will be much competition for favour during the ensuing season in Waikato.
