IND USTRIA L EXHIBITION AT CHRISTCHURCH.
Wk have received from the Secretary a copy of the logulalions for the foitli coining Industral Exhibition at Christchurch, which will be opened on the 17th of December next and be continued for a peiiod about three weeks. "The objects" says the "circular which the Committee have distinctly in view, are to make the genet al public acquainted with the Manufactures, Products, Timbers, Mincials, and other natuial resources of New Zealand, and thereby to promote the prosperity of the Colony. The Managing Committee are desirous of scouring the best possible Illustrative Exhibits of New Zealand's Natuial and Raw Products— of such goods as are of bond fide New Zealand Manufactuic, and of such Manufactuiing piocesscs as may bo generally inteiesting and instructive. They desire also to receive Works of Art, in older to assist in developing aiistic tastes, for which «n Ait Galleiy will be provided, and would unite the assistance of Ladies in procuring specimens of Art, Necdlowoik, Fancy Woik, Punting in Oil and Water Dolour, Ten a Cotta, and anything suitable for the Ladies' Com t. A space will be also set apait as Juvenile Comfc (for which no eutiy fee will be made), for .Specimens of Painting, Di awing, Modelling, and any Mechanical Woik, limited to youths of both sexes under the aye of 10. A Committee will be appointed to make an official repot t on all and each of the Exhibits, in general terms, as to their novelty, Progicss, or Potfection, the leport to be punted, and a copy picsented to each Exhibitor." The following ate thciegulations : — Applications for space, with with paiticulais of the intended Exhibit, will be icceived till December Ist, 1883. The chaigc for space will be Two Shillings and Sixpence per foot frontage, with a suflicient depth for rach Exhibit, but the Committee will claim the right of occupying and using and spaces not coveted by the Exhibit. A umfonn frontage will be maintained, but wheie for the purposes of examination, it is necessary to leave a space on all sides of the Exhibit, this must be stated with the cutty, and the space rajuned specified. The minimum chaige for an Exhibit will he Five .Shillings. (This cluuge is ncuessaty, as the L'lomotcis have no (lov eminent or other subsidy, and the expenditmo for buildings will h mount to a laige sum). All applications must bo accompanied by payment. No chaige will be made lor cutties in the Fine Ait Dcpaitmcnt, except exhibited for sale, ■vv lieu a fee of Two Shillings and .Sixpence will be lequiied. A fee of One Mulling will be made foi cutties in the Ladies' Com t towvuds the set vices of an attendant. Space in the open giound for outside Exhibits can be obtained at the late of Fifteen Shillings for the fii-st one hundred sijuaio feet, and a penny foi every additional squruc foot. The tcception of the exhibits will commence on December 10th, and cease on the evening of flic 14th, after which none can be icceived. All exhibits must be temoved within five days aftct the close of the Exhibition. Exhibits may be sold, but on no account can they be removed befoic the close of the Exhibition. All fittings, show cases, shelving, &c, must be provided by and at the expense of the exhibitot. The committee lescrve the right of rejecting any prouosod exhibit not compljing with the objects of the Exhibition, or which may be dangeious oi ofleusivc.
