Auckland v. Canterbury.
This match, the first of a series of interptovincial matches in which the Aueklautl representatives are to engage, was played on the Lancaster Park giouiul, Chri&tchurch, on Saturday, and alter a close contest lesulted iv a victory for Auckland by a goal and a try to a try. The weather was splendid, and thei c was a large attendance of the public, but the ground, owing to the recent rains, was soft and sloppy.
