THE T A MAHE RE, RUKUHdIA AMD HAUTAPU SCHOOLS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Last Night.
AT the Board of Education to-day, Mr \V. A. Giahatn, of Tamahere, appeared in support of a petition from the above districts, praying that the pi o posed new school be erected at the Narrows instead of atSteele's and Gribble's (Rukuhia.) After considerable discussion the follow - ing motion was passed : — " That the Hautapu school be elected on Steele and Gribble's site ; that n new school bo built in place of the present Hautapu school, ncdier Cambiidgc, as may be hereafter decided on ; that a new school be erected, fronting the Cambridge-Hamilton road, on three acres proposed to be given by Mr W. A. Graham ; and that Mr O'Sallivan be requested to report on the question of a site nearer CVimluidge, and also on the advisability of buying an additional two aci e3 at Tamahere, and that in respect of the Tamahere and Rukuhia schools, Mr Alhi o 'ht be instructed to propare plans and specifications at once.'
