', Ss><ie sensation has been caused in the usually quiet district of Newmarket, by 't, the arrest of a well-known butcher of that place named Edward Dewar Richards, on a charge of unlawfully and maliciously committing damage to a certain house tho property of Benjamin Tanner, Richards is well known in connection with the recent bigamy case, and his domestic troubles are closely connected with the present charge. Richards was married some years ago to a woman named Kelly, by whom he had several children. In a moment of fondness for his offspring he made over to them his chop and dwell-ing-house at Newmarket, and some time afterwards he went through the court. It would appear thaj: he repented of his generosity and decided to have the deed destroyed. Last week Richards, it is alleged, moved a portion of the house off the w ground and yesterday sold the remainder. Whether this is so or not remains to bs proved, but the house was found this morning razed to the ground. Mr Theo. Cooper, on behalf of Mr Tanner, jhad a warrant put into execution, Constable Ryan making the arrest., - On 'Change. Sales, to-day: Imperial, 51a; London, 2i 6d; Premier, 16s.
