CONCERT AT MAN GAP I KO SCHOOL.
, A TH V meeting and conceft w.is held in the above school-room on Fnilay evening last. The arrangements made for the ac comodation of visitors were perfect ; t\\ o bell tents were pitched, or.o for the ladies and one for gentlemen, as dressing100ms : tea was served in a large manjuee, which was beautifully decorated. >yifch ovepgroens, in a manner which showed thu "hand of an artist. The spread, which was really excellent, and would have teilected credit on a pi'ofes«sional confectioner, was provided by the settlers. Messrs Hill, Harper, Nabbs, Alexander. I. Gibson and F. Gibson, assisted by the Misses Hill, presided at fche tables, and were assiduous in their attention to the guests. After tea the company adjourned to the sclfoq}-room, in which a stage Mas erected for the singers. The accompaniments were played by the Misses Hill and Mrs Gascoigue. The following is a list of the sonws and solos : — Piano trio, Misses Hjll : " Charge of the Light Brigade," Mr H untpr 5 u f)arby and Joan," in character, Miss Wright (eucored) ; "Still I love thee," Mr Ansen ; piano solo, " Last rose of summer," with variations, Mrs S. Vaile ; glee, "Oh who will o'er the Downs," company ; spelling bee 3 Mrs Grierson; "Santa Lucia," Mr jfrornm 5 '•' Ypice is near," Miss Hill ; " Never Trouble T^oublo," Mr Johnson (encored) ; " Laird 0' Cockpen," Boy. Mr Phillips ; " Tapping at the Garden Gate," Mrs Grierson ; " Dear Little Shamrock," Mr Hunter; "Shy Robin," Miss Gertrude Hill ; " Bell Mahoue," Mr Warner; "La Marseillaise,' 1 Mr Fro mm ; "Oh, no I'll never 'Marry," Miss Wright (eu- | cored). This brought the singing to a close,' thbo fQllq^ed • the feature of the evening, Mr Jarle'y's " animated "wax works.
