The Markets. Auckland, Last Night. Butter remains at last quotation, but eggs have fallen 3d per doz., and are now selling at Is 3d ; hams, new cured, bare, aie quoted at from lOd to l(Hd per lb ; bacon, uew cured, bare, from 8d to B^d ; bacon in cloth, B£d. The flour market is slightly alteied. Southern pioduce may now be quoted at from £12 to £12 ss, local flour remaining at last week's pi'ices.

Alleged Robbery. Late last evening a man named John Cairo], who described himself as a farmer, residing at Pukekohe, reported to the police that he had been drinking at the Black Bull Hotel, in Albert-street, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. yesterday, and that about the latter hour he proceeded to the urinal attached to the hotel. He was followed by four or five men, who knocked him down, one. fellow holding

lilm 'by the throat ' while the ' 6thefa searched all his poeUets. From his trousers pookets they took three £1 bank notes, but he knows neither the numbers nor the bank by which they were it-sned. Detective Hughes succeeded m tracking Albeit Wright, one of the men who had followed Ciriol, ton, brothel in Albertstreet about midnight. Wright showed fight, but was eventually captured and locked up. On being searched he was found in possesbion of 19d. A man named Ryan was subsequently locked up, and with Wright and Homo appealed as prisoners at the Police Court this morninjj. Ou the application of Sergt. White, a remand for oight days was granted.

Poultry Show. The fust Annual poultry show in connection uitli the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoial Association opened this afternoon in Mr Buckland's wool sheds. There aio a large number of exhibits.

Pigeon Race. A piguon race took place to-cliy, the couise being fiom Mercer to Auckland, a distance- of 40 miles. The first prize was 40s ; 2ml, 20s Mr CoruweU's Osman. Pasha won, am \ ing at 52 minutes past one o'clock, while Mr Batger's bird, which was next, reached town about 12 minutes past two.
