Melbourne, July 31. The following horse 3 have been scratched for the Melbourne Cup :— King Charles, Spread Eagle, Guesswork, Achilles, and Redbank.
(.Received August Ist, 2.15 p.m.] Melbourne, Yesterday. Arrived, this morning : s.s. Hauroto from the Bluff. Sailed this morning, s.s, Mannpouri for the Bluff.
(Received August Ist, 2 BO p.m.) Albany, July 31. Arrived last evening, the P. and 0. Co's s.s. Australian, with the inward Suez mail.
Hobart Town, Jnly 31. Heavy shocks of earthquake were felt to-day at Branxholme, in the north-east of this colony.
