LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS. [BY TELEGRAPH.-OWN CORRESPONDENT.]

The Costley Bequest. Auckland, Last Night. A meeting of the trustees of the various institutions benefited under the late Mr Costley 's will was held this afternoon, when it was resolved to realise the various properties in order to the allocation of the bequest. This decision, which was unanimous, coincides with the previous intention of the executors under the will.

The Markets. In the weekly market price list appears the principal alterations, including a decline in bran from £6 to £5 5s ; butter and eggs remain at last week's prices, the latter having a downward tendency.

Death of Judge Manning. A private cablegram to Mr S. Jackson, stlicitor, announces the death of Judge Manning.

Dividend. The Gas Company have declared a dividend of 7s 6d per share.,

Savage Attack by a Bulldog. A little boy named Heath, of Arch Hill, eleven years old, was attacked by a bulldog, which, though muzzled, bit him so severely that his life is despaired of. Several men came to the rescue and had to kill the savage brute with a rifle before they could rescue the boy.
