HARAPEPE.
Tiik liveand, dead stock of the late E G. McMinn wcic all sold off on the 27th ot June by Messis W. J. Hunter and Co. There was a veiy good attendance, and the prices realised were, consideiing the dullness of the times, satisfactory. The cattle of coarse hold low, it being a bad time of the year to sell. The Aimed Constabulary ceased to carry the mails in the Waipa distiict fioni the end ot last month. The postal authonties ha\o alteied the time of the arrival and departure of the maili in this disti let, and not for the lvtter, as they do not get hero now until 0 30 p.m.. which in winter time and with bad loads means 7p m. Many ot the settlers live five or six miles from the post-ofßce, and at this time of year night lides aie not pleasant, and less so when there is no need for them. — (Own Correspondent, Julj 3id.)
