He has had twenty years experience in boring oil wells, and comes to make experiments in that direction. Included in the caigo per City of New Yoik were 170 blood sheep in charge of Mr H.iy. Thcshecp, which are ot a special kind ot Merino, occupy the whole of the main deck «>pncc, which lias been engaged for conveyance of further shipments during tlip enduing twelve months. Mr Thomas Kusbell li.ia taken a passage to 'Fnsco by the next outgoing mail steam ei . Two gumdiggers named William Foujjhey and James Welsh are supposed to have been dt owned at Battley, Kai* p.ira.
