The House resumed at 7. 30. Major Atkinson announced that instead of moving a resolution re the Pacific annexation, he intended to ask for a select committee to consider the whole subject. (. oilbidoiablc discussion took place on Major Atkinson's motion to give Govern ment business piccedencc on Thuisday. Cx. LUcy, Mcssis J. YV. Thompson, Joyce, Sir I\oss, Macandiew, Fish and Montgomci v objected to it.
