Formation of a Borough. A meeting is convened for next Saturday, to consider the .ul\ inability of con stituting the townships of Te Aioli.i, Waiorongomni, and the Government township on the west bank of the river, a borough under th« Municipal Corpora, tions Act, 1870. The settlement of this district has increased so rapidly, and townships laid out which necessitate the forming of aticcta, footpaths and for otliei purposes, has caused some of our oldest resident to think that the time ha^ aheady aiuved when a local supers ision is neeubbaiy, and .is a boiough under the above act would confer gi eater powcis on the local body, it is most probable that the proposition will meet with the approval of the meeting.

Te Kooti. Te Kooti is still at the Omahu Pah, ami made his appeaiancc in the township on Saturday, accompanied by hit, body giuud of about oO men. They weie very (|iuct and oideily. Te Kooti was an object of inteiest, and was intei viewed by a nuinbor of the tesidents.
