THE ROTO RU A RAILWAY.
Thk directors of the Rotorua railway have forwarded to the membeis of Parliament, in circular form, the whole of the correspondence which has passed between them and the (lovemnient regaiding the concessions naked for in respect of the line. In summing up the directois say: — " The directors rcgict they ha\c been unable to move the Government from the position taken ; which, though denied being antagonistic to the company as to the final construction of the line, it is hoped that meanwhile the question of the required land endowments may receive a satisfactory solution. Before this is anived at the directors cannot go upon the Home maiket to float the company's dcbentuics, for the whole lino, and they will consequently be compelled meanwhile to om-i me the power of calling up the capital of the company to a greater amount than was at first anticipated. The diicctors have the fullest iaith in the ultimate success of the undertaking, though the patience of shtuoiioldcis may be taxed until existing obftci'iiction& have been surmounted."
