Two night watchmen weie on duty, one of whom was specially told off to watch this and another import shed. He had gone lound at a quarter past 8, trying all doors., and nothing appeared to be wrong. Within less than half-an-hour afterwards the fiieboll rang. All the goods per the Tarawera, a quantity by the Wakatipu, and a few packages by the Westmcath tVere in it. Eleven railway trucks, loaded, were in the shed. Nothing at all was saved. A large number of the leading importcis are losers.
