Attempts to burn a cottage on Scott'sroad were made on Friday night. Mr Simmons, his wife and six children were in bed when Mrs Simmons heard the weatherboards crackling. The fire was extinguished with the help of neighbours. The weatherboards had been saturated with kefflsene. The house was insured foy £150 in the National Ui\\ox\. Mr Simmons' furniture is uninsured. Last Night. Being incensed at the licensing committee for granting licenses for two new hotels, the women of Sydenham intend holding an indignation meeting. At a meeting of the provisional directors qf t]je new meat freezing company, it was agreed to ' fix the "capital &i £100,000 in £5 shares.
