It is reported here that the Colonial Secretary of Queensland has received a telegram from Earl Derby, Secretary of Saato for the Colonies, stating that Sir A 1 thur Kennedy, Governor of Queensland, died ot Aden on the 3icl instant, while on a voyage to England. The Aye has despatched Mr Morrison, who recently walked from the Gulf of Carpentaria to Melbourne, to explore New Guinea. The *l'je suggests that the proposed Exhibition in London should be held under the auspices of the Colonial Institute. June 10. Arrived, this afternoon : The P. and 0. steamship Indus, with inwards mails via Suez and Bnndi&i, dated London, May 4. Adelaide, June 9. Tup, Adelaide Chamber of Commerce suppoits Mi Twopeny's proposal to hold a Colonial Exhibition in London. Launoestom, June 9. The ship Asterope, which went ashore at the Low Head, has been abandoned to the underwriters, and is expected to become a total wreck. Sydney, June 9. The Western Railway extension from Nevertire to Nyngau, a distance of 36 miles, was opened to-day. The total leiu'th of the line now opened from Sydney is 377 miles. His Excellency the Governor unveiled the statue of the late Mr S. Mort, which was erected opposite the exchange. A vast multitude of people were present, and an eloquent oiation was delivered by the Hon. \V. B. Dalley. Yesterday Arrived ychterdny morning, the Hauroto, from Wellington, The Orient steamship Austral has sailed for Glasgow in excellent trim. Brisbane, June 10. The Colonial Secretary has received a telegraphic despatch from the Home Government, announcing the death of Sir Arthur Kennedy, late Governor of Queensland, at Aden, on June 3rd.
