At the rattlisales during the past week, at Waiuku .md Pukekohe, there were 'Hot many cattle yarded, but a better enquiry for young steers than lor sonic time, and all <tock brought forward hold. At Rumeraon Thursday d^iry cattle were numerous and at irregular values, those at profit selling at high prices, but,|f not elpse to cnlvintf comparatively law values, ranging between 18s and 22, 6d the lOOlbs. Sheep were in good enquiry and sold bettor than for the past lew weeks ; good lambs were particularly in request. Pigs were ' numerous, and, with the exception of suckers, in brisk enquiry throughout the sale. We sold hides from 2Jd to 3d ; skins, Is 3d to 2s Od ; tallow, LI 3a- tid to LI 6s 6d. Cattle :At the Newmarket Yards, on Tuesday last, there were but few cows or store cattle offered, but fat stock (principally shipbornc) were in more than usual numbers, and sold at prices slightly below last week's quotations. At the Papakura sale on Wednesday, a large number of cattle were broughtforward, a good many were disposed of, but prices were a ■hade lower than last month for all kinds of ■tore stock. Dairy cows at their profit, beiugtn demand, were readily cleared at more satisfactory rates. We quote— Yearlings, LI Is to LI lls Od ; heifers, Ll 17s 0d ts L 2 5s ; two-year-old steers, L 2 Is to L 2 7s Od : dry cows, from Ll 6s to L 4 ; dai.y cows, LO 7b Od to L8 10s.
