Mort and Co. report under date, Sydney, May 18th :— - Wool is still coming: forward in small quantities, but thb season is practically over, and as some of the principal buyers have ceased operatins for a time, there is not so much animation in the demand. Quotations may be given as ,4 follows :— Scoured fleece, 21d to 23d; secured ' sklnwool, lid to_ 20d ; washed fleece, inferior, lSd to 14d ; medium to gopd, lGd to 18d ; greasy, inferior, 6id to 8d ; fair to good, Od to 10a ; superior, lid to 12d per lb. Hie London May sales commenced on the 16th instant, with full arrivals. Telegrams to hand report th.it competition on the opening night was fairly active, and that for good wools prices were on a le\ cl with closing rates of the February series ; but inferior sorts, especially of scoured and crossbred, arc not selling so well as formerly, and E rices for these arc lower. The total quantity to c offered will be about 340,000 bales. Seven vessels have cleared for London, and one, a French steamer, for Marseilles, with wool on board, since our last issue, I'hc total export for the season now reaches 239,428 bales as against 123,810 for the corresponding period last jcar. Gkain. — Wluat.— Prices have lately fluctuated a good deal. We have sold at up to 5s (Hd for prime samples ; medium, from 5s Id to 5s 4d ; and smutty and inferior, 3s 0d to 4s Gd per bushel.— Oats sell at from 2b to 2s 8d per bushel according to quality.
