NA TI VE L A NDS CO URT, CAMBRIDGE. Friday.— [Before Judge Macdonald and Puckey.]

Mr SiiKhHA>* asked that the case of Whaiti-Kuranui No. f>, C sub-di\ i&ion might be called. Knramini opposed the ptoposes.l subdh ision, and refused to acquiesce in the judgment of the previous court. The Court replied that Karamini must uudei stand that any claim of revision of the pi evious judgment was totally inadmissible. He had better accept the very liberal offer made him, viz., the pitch of the land, which, as stated by Mr Sheohan, was still open to him. Karamini wanted the absolute return of 6000 acres in addition. Mr W. H. Grace produced ft list of thirteen who had not sold their interests, representing 1208 acres. He had offered to give tliese hon sellers their acreage in two parcels, being the best portions of the block. The court gave Karamini until to-day at noon to make up his mind.

Mangapouri No. 2. Mr Sheehan applied to have the former sub-division amended by making an additional order in favour of Ruta te Manuahura. Order : That a Crown grant be issued in favour of Wiripini Kaparieri for 107 acres to be called Mangapouri No. 2, B ; also, a Crown grant in favour of lluta te Mannahura for 107 acres to be called Mangapouri No. 2, C, and that .i certificate of title be issued in favour of Te Ki»re te Haniaka, Wikitoria, Meae T.unihitiia, Te Kapuraukura, Terena te Kere, Te Whakaheke Tapuke, and lluruhira Hoera, for 856 acres to be called Mangapouri No. 2, A.

Waotu South. Adjourned to 23th May.

Te Ranga. llutene te Umang.v said his application covered not only Te Ranga, but the Opohuke block albo, and wished both blocks taken liere. Dr. Buller said it had been determined to hear Te Ranga here and Opohuke at Rotorua. The court would not disturb the arrangement. Rutene deposed that he belonged to Ngatihnri and Ngatiporoaha bapus, and claimed the land now before the court as a Ngatiporoaha. The chief, in right of whose conquest he claimed, was Poroaha, who took the land from the Ngatikahupungapunga. Witness traced his descent for 12 generations. Have never been disturbed in the land. Hetni Ranapiri claimed a small parcel, an overlap from other land. Dr. Buller appeared for the Ngathvanwau, who claimed a small parcel. Maihi also desired to put in a claim on behalf of the Ngatimaihi, if Aniwairangi were included. Dr. Buller thought there would be no difficulty in respect of the Ngatimaihi and Ngatiwauwau mutually agreeing in a list of names," so loug as the Ngatiwauwau claim was acknowledged. Mr Sheehan could not allow the general identity of the two hapaus, and suggested that the case should proceed as between Ngatihuri and Ngatikapu, leaving the subordinate questions to be arranged during the progress of the case. The court adjourned at 3 p.m.

" Gripps,. I understand you have a superior way of curing hams. I should like to learn it." " Well, yes ; I know very well how to cure them ; but the trouble with me just now is to them."
