Wilson, J L, Esq J?kokhrs: _ Managing Dikfcior: Brokers' Associ.ition. C I) Stone, Esq Si cri i \ry, pro iijm. : J. C. Berger. Tue object of the Company is to provide tonage suitable to the growing trade of the Port of Auckland, so that the imports and exports of our city may be as much as possible carried in locally owned vessels, and the shipping business carried on by a fukkly local company. The rates of freights current in this colony compare most favourable with those ruling in neighbouring colonies, and arc as a rule sufficiently remunerative to leave a good piofit, trading hence either foreign or intercolonial. The acknowledged daily increasing commercial importance of Auckland is a source of gratification, and the shipping trade, under skilful management and with sufficient capital, would meet with speedy and great development with many parts of the Woild with which we are at present not in absolutely diiect communication. The object of this Company is to provide vessels to trade in the directions already opened, and otlieis which may from time to time olfer inducements. There is ample room for a well-orga-nised new line between Auckland and London, Liverpool and Glasgow, with New York, and m ith some of the larger centres of Continental European trade. Of course, tho laigeand incrccisingexpoit of balk and sawn timber will form an impoitant adjunct. A trade with Tasmania, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, &c. , being already established, could easily be continued with regularity, whilst the Newcastle and Grey mouth coal trades should be also provided for. There is a vast field in prospective for a good trade with America, Mauiitius, China, Manila, Calcutta, the Cape, Nomura, and numerous foreign ports, with some of which, even at the present moment, a profitable diiect trade is being carried on in a desultory manner, and which would find suppoit from the new inclustiies lately established heie* and in prospective establishment. The Company do not propose to limit themselves to running their own \ csseld, but will from time to time chaiter vessels when required, in the event of their own not being immediately a\ tillable. Mes^io. Stone Bios., who ha\e for sometime canied on a good shipping business, and who have now fairly stiii ted a new London line, possess the nucleus ot a flee.t suitable for commencing opciations, and arrangements have been made to take over their vessels and the good-will of their shipping business for the sum of thiity thousand six hundred and fifty pounds (£30,650), they taking h.ilf the amount in Company's shares. Their fleet consisting of 8 vessels, amUi aggtegate tonnage of 261-2 tons,, should be augmented as soon as possible, so that tho business may be extended without delay, especially the London and Amciicau branches. The sci vices of Mr C. B. Stone, as managing director, and the staff at present under his court ol, who aie experienced in this line of business, havo been secured to take office under the new Company. It is further proposed that the working expenses should be conducted on stuctly economical pi inciples, the expense of agencies and branches to be defrayed out of commissions on the actual fi eights earned by those branches. The proposed capital is set down at £150,000 but as only a small portion is required at present for the purchase of the existing fleet and contingent expenses, fmthcr capital will not be called up until vessels suitable for the London and other trades may offer for sale at reasonable prices, until which time it is proposed to charter \ easels as required to supplement the present fleet. It is proposed to invite all Auckland business -men and all who may have auy interest in the tiade of our port to take Shares in this local Company, and to gi\e the undertaking every possible support. The Company would thus be in a measure self-supporting, and strong enough to compete most successfully with any outside or foreign company or foreign shipping. The Company could then not fail to be a credit to our poit, and a mostlncrative investment to Shareholders. The promoters having every confidence in the success of the uudei taking, now appeal to the public to insure it by sub- *■ cubing freely for Shares. LIST OF VESSELS. Tons Register. These figures serve to show that with a larger fleet, extended business, and moie ■ capital, substantial dividends may con-

fidently be anticipated. MO T ICE.
