NELSON, Tuesday.
Mr Shepherd, M.H.H, for Waimea, addressed the electors at Richmond last night. He spoke principally on the land law?, national insurance, the railway route, and special taxation for railways. He argued against Major Atkinson's insurance scheme, and said that unless modified it could not be called a scheme for the prevention of pauperism. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously.
