NA TI VE LA NDS COURT , CAMBRIDGE.

Tuesday.— [Before Judges Macdonald and Puckcy.] Mr Shkehan asked, on behalf of parties interested in Waotu North, for fresh orders amending those heretofore made in respect of Waotu North No. 1, C, and No. 3, D, (West Taupo). There being no objection, an order was made \n favour of Aperahama Rangitutia and eighteen others for one hundred acres of Waotu North No. I,C; and an order for two hunched acres of Waotu North No. 3, D, in favour of Maihi te Ngaru and thirty-eight others. In each case those orders wore made to enable the grantees to hand over the land to branches of their hapus residing at Kapiti. A. discussion ensued between Hemi Rauapiri and Hare Teimana leganling the adjustment of the claims of the Ngatilitiri and Ngatikapu in Waotu South. Mr Sheehan thought that if the court adopted the course ao successfully pursued in the case of Waotu North, and personally conferred with the heads of the hapus, all the outstanding difficulties, which were matters rather of detail than of principle, could be adjusted. M.wgakahia could not allow the claim of the .Ngatitaura to be dropped in silence. Hemi Ranapiri considered that the claim of the Ngatitaura was to be settled by the Ngatihuri out of their share. Mang-ikahia could not consent lo such an anangement unless a full acknowledgement of independent title was given. The Court replied that it had never been informed of the terms of the agreement of which the existence was only now announced. If such agreement was in precise terms the court would enforce them. If not, their own careles&ness was in fault. Mr Sheehan put in a written agreement, settling absolutely the Ngatihineone boundary. The court was adjourned in the afternoon on account of the arrival of Tawhiao. I There was no sitting of the court on i Wednesday in consequence of Tawhiao's visit.
