The annual meeting of ratepayers in this district was held in the Te Mata schoolroom on the sth inst. Mr W, Duncan was voted to the chair. The annual statement of receipts and expenditure for the past nine months was submitted and approved of. The annual report was also read and adopted. A motion was carried, suggesting that the now board should take steps under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882, to borrow £300, for the erection of the bridges carried away by late floods. A sum of £5 was voted to the cleric fpr his services during the past year. A vote of thanks to the outgoing trustees was carried by acclamation. The usual vote of thanks to the chair closed the proceedings. —(Own Correspondent, May Bth.)
