Medium draft from £15 to £25 ; riding horses from £13 to £18 ; small horses from £4 upwards. Fodder was in brisk dcm.md, best quality brought from 5s to 7s the cwt. On Tuesday hides were plentiful, and brought 2^d to 3id the Ib Sheep skins, Is r to It lOd each. Tallow, 27s 'the cwt. Wool, C^d io Old the lb. At the country lales held at Pokeno on Monday, and the Drury on Wednesday, there Wiis large numbers of cattle sold, prices Wer6 lower than a month since ; for grown steers, -ihout 10<! per head and other rattle in prqportion. At R muera on Thursday, dairy cattle were in dema e nd at full values, storc_ cattje at . iower values, l'at cattle abundant, prices steady throughout # the sale, at 225. the lOOlbs 1 . for Auckland fatted, 21s for shipborne. Waik.ito averages were : 15 oxen, James Allen, £8 17s Od 15 head mixed sexes, W. Taylor, £8 5s 6d ; 8 steers, W. and J. Scott, £S 10s 3d ; 8 steers, Jones and Gregory, £8 2s 3d; 24 steers, J, C. Firth, £7 16s 8d ; 8 head, C. J. Storcj, £7 Us 3d Store sheep wore at low values. Well fatted wethers in brisk enquiry, prices ranged from 10s to 18* each, but medium quality wether* from 12s to 14s only. Pigs were plentiful ; suckers at nominal vulucs, but growing stores in good enquiry. Mkssrs, Hunter and Nolans Wcbki.y Rrcroßi.—Horses : There has not been much noteworthy change in the market ; good useful lioiscs have been salable, but vendors have been com- ■ polled to curtail their expectations. On Friday a good many found purchasers at auction, and several were aftcrVards placed privately, We quote— Hacks, from £7 5s to £13 7 6d ; active draught horses, from £18 10s to £84. Hides, skins, and_ wool : There was a slightly upward tendency in the price of hides, and 3jd was given for medium quality ; pelts sold at 5d . skins, Is 7d to 2s 9d ; wool (in bags), SW. Cattle : The supply has been largo and tlie demand steady, the result being little alteration in \aluc. The Newmarket Yards, were well filled on Tuesday. A good many dairy cows and .stork were yarded, and found purchasers at a shade in advance of Ust week s rates. There was a full supply in the butchers' pens, and last week values were barely sustained. Sheep; The supply has been good and demand stead). Prices had a slightly upward tendency as compared with.the previous week. Store ewes sold at from 5s Od to 9s Od ; wethers . 7s Od to 12s ; frt sheep, Is lOd per Slbs. Pigs : A moderate number yarded, and good porkers said freely at usual rates.
