Thk diamond prospectors returned from Alford Forest on Saturday night with several supposed diamonds, which will be sent up for testing. E. C. Dudley was committed for trial to-d<iy for embezzlement of the Waimakariri Harbour Board funds. A further charge of laiceny as a bailee was def cried for a fortnight. Dudley was also sentenced to a month's imprisonment for refusing to obey an order of the magistrate's court to produce certain borough council books. On Saturday last George Robinson, the Maori heavy-weight champion, and W. Hudson, light-weight champion, were matched to wrestle on May 22nd, the former laying £25 to £10.
