PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of Section 73, " Road Boards Act, 1852," that at a meeting to be held at the office of the Tuhikaraniua Road Board, Tuhikaramea, on Monday, April 30th, it is the intention of the Board by Special Order to declare that, notwithstanding the provisions of the regulations of " Local Elections Act, 1876," all elections of members of the Board shall be conducted in the manner provided by Section 48 and 49 of the " Road Boards Act, ISB2. RATEPAYERS are hereby notified of the RESULT of a POLL taken on 12th April, 1883, to decide on a proposal made by the road board, under provision contained in part 2 of the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882, to borrow a sum of £500 for district roads, and to levy a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the £, on the rateable value of the district, for a period of fifteen years, in liquidation of the same. The Votes Recorded For the proposal numbered 24, representing property of the rateable value of £27,019. Against the proposal, none. I hereby declare the proposal to have been unanimously agreed to.
