A lar^e and mfluctitial meeting was hckl at l\iuianga on Saturday night to meet Mr Vesey Stewart prior to his departure for England. A resolution was unanimously passed "That this meeting desires to express confidence in Mr Vesey .Stewart, ami regret that Mr Barton's report, which is not in all i espects in accordance with the facts, should h.ive been the weans of winding up the New Zealand Loan Company, which corpoiation had such large colonising power within its reach,"
